To safeguard the future of the family home, the families of Georges, Jean, François and Marie Debbané-Naggear, the descendants of Raphaël Youssef Debbané, have relinquished their rights to the property and in 1999 set up a Foundation.

The palace was designated a historic monument in 1968 and it is the aim of the Foundation to restore it as a building of historical and artistic significance and turn it into a museum.
